I was in the Katipunan area some time last week so Carina and I chose to stop by Regis Center which is kind of a new building in that area. It didn’t exist in our college days and Carina swears that if that place was open when she was in school, she’d probably be real fat by now. It’s pretty cool because there are all these food choices now so close to Ateneo. There’s a Bonchon and Red Mango, there as well as Saint Alp’s Teahouse. There’s even a FullyBooked branch! Saint Regis is also home to the cheapest Valet Parking fare I have ever seen in my life, just Php 30. We both hadn’t ever tried Mom & Tina’s and there seemed to be so many people eating there so we joined right in.

Someone told Carina they had really good US Beef Tapa (Php 210) so she went ahead and got that. Their tapa was nice, crispy and salty and looked a whole lot like bacon (except dark, of course). I want to try making this at home.

I ordered the Chicken Spinach Lasagna (Php 170) which was served piping hot, I burnt a part of my tongue. It was really rich, cheesy and creamy tasting. Kind of reminded me of the Spinach Lasagna at the Polo Club. There’s this very homey taste to the food they have here, the kind of stuff I think all moms would know how to cook. It was good and reminded me of something I’ve tasted in the past at someone’s house. I personally prefer the lasagna my mom makes at home but I suppose this is good enough.

Soft rolls that came with the lasagna!

My sweet tooth couldn’t resist this Mocha Creme Fudge Cupcake (Php 50). I really enjoyed how buttery their icing tasted. I felt like a winner.
